The Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics (ACLA) is a bilingual learned society that brings together researchers, practitioners and students around research, creation and mobilization of knowledge on contemporary issues in applied linguistics.

The objectives of ACLA
  • Promote research, teaching and knowledge mobilization in all areas of applied linguistics;
  • Promote the voices and work of French-speaking, Indigenous and historically marginalized community researchers;
  • Support the development of emerging researchers through mentoring, networking and training activities;
  • Organize an annual congress in various regions of the country to promote exchanges across Canada;
  • Support the Canadian Journal of Applied Linguistics, the association's official journal.
