The Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics

The Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics (ACLA) is a bilingual scholarly association that brings together researchers, practitioners, and students to engage in research, creation, and knowledge mobilization regarding contemporary issues in applied linguistics.

The objectives of the ACLA
  • Promote research, teaching, and knowledge mobilization across all areas of applied linguistics;
    Highlight the voices and work of researchers who are Francophone, Indigenous, or from historically marginalized communities;
    Support the development of emerging researchers through mentoring, networking, and training activities;
    Organize an annual conference in various regions of the country to foster exchange across Canada;
    Support the "Canadian Journal of Applied Linguistics"/ "Revue canadienne de linguistique appliquée", the association’s official journal.
