Our story
Since its inception, ACLA has been dedicated to advancing knowledge in the field of applied linguistics across Canada. The association’s official journal, the Canadian Journal of Applied Linguistics, published its first issue in 1998, marking a key moment in the dissemination of scholarly work in the field. The association’s constitution was formally adopted in 2007, reinforcing its role as a national bilingual scholarly society.
